About
Why should I sign up?
Our communities play a crucial part in helping us prevent and detect crime and anti-social behaviour. Working together, we can make Staffordshire a safer place to live and work.
By signing up to Staffordshire Smart Alert, you’ll receive localised messages from your local officers about engagement events, appeals, crime, prevention advice and general policing activity. You can also be kept informed about what your local policing team is up to, including public events and meetings they are attending within your community. This messaging system allows you to reply and feedback information to your local policing teams to help look after your neighbourhood.
What happens when I sign up?
- Signing up to Staffordshire Smart Alert is free, quick and simple. You’ll be given the option of what you want to receive alerts about, and how often.
- You can opt to receive alerts via email, text message, voice message or on your smart phone via the Smart Alert app.
- It’s simple to use and you’ll only receive alerts local to your area and chosen interest.
- You can change your preferences or stop receiving messages at any time.
What sort of alerts will I receive?
The types of messages you receive depends on the interests you select.
For example, if you choose ‘Rural Watch’ as a topic of interest, we’ll send you information relevant to rural policing and incidents. You can pick multiple areas of interest, such as business, community messaging and more.
Alerts are posted directly by Staffordshire Police to keep you informed about what is happening in your area, helping us to work together to make Staffordshire safer.
Please note: This community messaging platform is not for reporting crime or incidents. Report these online here, call 101 or direct message Staffordshire Police via Facebook or Twitter. In the case of an emergency, always call 999.
