SMART ALERT - Firework Safety and Consideration for Others

As we approach the firework season, please remember that while many people enjoy fireworks, not everyone does.

If you choose to use fireworks, please do so responsibly and only on your own property. Fireworks should not be set off in parks, open spaces, roads, footpaths, or other public areas where they can cause distress, damage, or pose a risk to others.

Please be mindful of:

Pets and other animals, many of which can become highly distressed by loud noises.

Young children, elderly residents, and those with sensory sensitivities who may be affected by unexpected fireworks.

Neighbours who may have concerns about noise, safety, or disruption.

Where possible, consider attending an organised firework display instead. Organised events are generally safer, professionally managed, and help reduce the impact on local communities and animals.

Let's all play our part in ensuring everyone can enjoy the season safely and respectfully. Thank you for being considerate of your neighbours and helping to keep our community safe.
