Trentham and Hanford Newsletter - updates from todays road safety meeting, upcoming events and police street surgeries

Good evening everyone,

I hope you all have had a good week. 

Firstly, a very warm welcome to everyone who has recently joined Staffordshire Smart Alert. There are now 1598 persons registered to receive these updates in the Trentham and Hanford area, which is fantastic! Hopefully we can make it to over 1600 by next week.  

This week Police surgeries have been completed at Church Lane, Highfield Rise, Swanton Pl, and Kersbrook Cl. 

Apologies if I missed anyone at the surgery at The Lea, this has been re-arranged, with the details of this and the other upcoming Police street surgery dates, times and location details placed towards the bottom of this e-mail. 

Road Safety Meeting updates

This morning (26/09/2026) I attended a road safety meeting, organised by the Trentham Central Residents Association (TCRA), which took place at the Learning Centre, Allerton Road. This was a very well attended event, and I would like to send a very big thank you to the Trentham Central Residents Association for not only organising this meeting but putting a lot of hard work in leaflet dropping, along with creating and presenting a presentation for today’s event. 

I found the meeting to be very productive and it was a great example of the community coming together to problem solve, to share and develop ideas, with the combined aim to help to make our roads a safer place. 

Some of the concerns that were discussed were regarding dangerous parking around the vicinity of The Priory CE Academy, speeding along Boma Road and vehicles not adhering to the ‘Except for access’ signs in place there. 

I know from the many conversations that I have with residents, schools and visitors to the Trentham and Hanford area, that traffic related problems and concerns are a top priority to be addressed and I hear you loud and clear.

Following today’s meeting, I will be linking in with my supervisors, the Neighbourhood Policing Team and the Road Crime Team, to feedback directly the concerns and issues raised. 

I hope that today’s meeting will be one of many to take place over the coming weeks and months, and I will share updates and dates for future events when I know more. 

Events 

On October 17th 2026, there will be an audience with John Ruggiero, taking place from 11am at the Community Coffee Morning, The Learning Centre, Trentham Academy, Allerton Road, Trentham, ST4 8PQ. 

All proceeds will be donated to Prostate Cancer UK.
