Tackling Nuisance Off-Road Bikes in Our Community
Dear Residents,
We are currently carrying out Operation Reclaim, an initiative aimed at tackling the nuisance, anti-social behaviour and criminality associated with off-road bikes being ridden in our local communities. We are aware that off-road bikes have recently been seen in this area, and we are asking local residents to help us build a clearer picture of what is happening.
WE NEED YOUR INFORMATION You may have seen or heard off-road bikes being ridden in the area, or you may know where bikes are being stored. Even information that may seem minor could help us identify those responsible and take appropriate action. We would particularly like to hear from you if you have information about:
● Dates and times when bikes have been seen. ● Exact locations where bikes are being ridden or causing nuisance. ● Descriptions of the bikes, including colour, make, model, registration number, stickers or distinctive markings. ● Descriptions of the riders, including clothing, helmets or other identifying features. ● Locations where bikes may be stored, such as garages, sheds, properties, fields or other premises. ● CCTV, doorbell footage, photographs or mobile phone footage showing the bikes or riders. ● Any patterns of activity, such as days, times or locations where bikes regularly appear.
YOUR INFORMATION COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The information provided by residents can help us to establish patterns of behaviour, identify individuals involved and locate where bikes are being kept. Please do not put yourself at risk or approach, challenge or confront anyone riding an off-road bike. If you have CCTV or doorbell footage, please do not delete it. Make a note of the date and time and contact us so we can discuss the footage with you.
YOUR DETAILS WILL REMAIN ANONYMOUS We understand that residents may be concerned about providing information. Your information will be treated sensitively, and you can provide information anonymously. You do not need to give your name or confront anyone yourself.
If you have any information, CCTV, photographs or footage that could assist with Operation Reclaim, please contact:
PCSO Tench – Claire.tench@staffordshire.police.uk
When contacting us, please provide as much detail as possible, particularly: DATE • TIME • LOCATION • BIKE DESCRIPTION • RIDER DESCRIPTION • STORAGE LOCATION • CCTV/FOOTAGE Thank you for taking the time to help us tackle this issue. Together, we can make our communities safer.
