As we move into autumn and the evenings begin to get darker, please take a few moments to review your home and vehicle security.

✅ Ensure all doors and windows are locked when leaving your property, even for a short period.
✅ Remove valuables from view in vehicles and always lock your car.
✅ Consider using timer switches on lights if you are away from home during the evening.
✅ Secure bicycles, tools, and garden equipment in locked sheds or garages.
✅ Be vigilant for rogue traders offering seasonal services such as roof repairs, gutter cleaning, or driveway work. Always use reputable companies and never feel pressured into agreeing to work on the spot.

With children returning to school, please also take extra care on the roads around schools and crossing points, particularly during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

If you see anything suspicious, report it to Staffordshire Police via 101 or online. In an emergency or if a crime is in progress, always call 999.
