Decade in jail for Stafford man who launched vicious and prolonged assault on woman

A man from Stafford has been jailed for more than a decade after he launched a vicious and prolonged assault on his ex-partner.

Jack Denny, 33, of Beaconside, has been locked up after he launched a callous attack on the survivor inside her home in January.

Now, Denny has been jailed for 10-years-and-two-months at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday (2 September). He was also given a 15-year restraining order. He admitted false imprisonment, wounding / inflicting grievous bodily harm, threats to kill and intentional suffocation.

Detective Constable Georgia Wiley, from CID, worked on the case. She said: “Denny could not dent the bravery and resilience of the survivor in this case. It is because of her strength that we were able to build all of the evidence needed to bring him to justice.

“I’d urge anyone suffering from domestic abuse to get in touch with us and seek support. Together, we can work to prevent harm and push for the toughest possible punishment in court for those responsible for these offences in Staffordshire.”
