ADVICE FOLLOWING INCIDENT AT CHASEWATER

Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service are urging people not to enter open water after a teenager got stuck in mud at Chasewater Country Park in Burntwood.

Crews were called to the scene at 4.15pm on Friday (21 August) following reports that a girl was stuck in knee-deep mud. Multiple appliances attended the scene and assisted a girl to safety.

Fire & Rescue Group Manager Jordan Money attended the scene. He said: “Entering open water can put you in significant danger and I'm urging people to take the necessary measures to stay safe in Staffordshire. Thankfully, the girl rescued in this incident was not injured, but the risk that this type of activity poses to people is still very high."
