MAN CHARGED WITH ROBBERY AND FIREARMS OFFENCES

A man is due to appear in court over an aggravated robbery at a bookmakers in Tamworth.

Sam Scott Cooke, 33, from Tamworth, has been charged with robbery, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and dangerous driving.

It comes as officers were called to a bookmakers in the Bolehall area on Sunday (16 August).

Cooke remains in police custody ahead of a court appearance due at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre later today (Thursday 20 August).
