Staffordshire Police are appealing for information following an incident of animal cruelty that occurred on 11/08/2026 at approximately 9:00pm near Heath Avenue, Werrington.

A cat was reportedly shot with an air rifle by unknown person(s), causing injuries so severe that the animal required surgery at a veterinary practice.

We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed anything suspicious, seen individuals carrying an air rifle, or who may have CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage that could assist our enquiries.
