With school holidays and warm weather encouraging more young people to spend time outdoors, we are reminding parents and carers to know where their children are and what they are doing.

Some locations and activities can pose serious risks, including:

❌ Swimming in rivers, lakes, canals, reservoirs or other waterways
❌ Entering abandoned or derelict buildings
❌ Taking part in anti-social behaviour or gathering in areas where nuisance is being caused
❌ Riding e-bikes or e-scooters dangerously, irresponsibly, or without the appropriate legal requirements

What may seem like harmless fun can quickly become a serious incident, putting young people and others at risk.

Please take a few moments to check in with your children:

✔️ Where are they?
✔️ Who are they with?
✔️ What are their plans?
✔️ How are they getting around?
✔️ When will they be home?

A simple conversation could make all the difference.
