Public Alert - Fake Banknotes in Circulation

Good Afternoon, 

We have received reports of suspected counterfeit banknotes being used in the area. 

Businesses are advised to carefully check all cash payments, and ensure staff are familiar with the security features of genuine notes. 

Members of the public are also asked to remain vigilant when buying or selling items through online marketplaces or social media, as counterfeit cash may be used during in-person transactions. 

If you believe you have been given a fake banknote, please avoid passing it on and report the incident to the police. 

Any information that may assist should be reported via 101, or 999 in an emergency.
