Illegal Off‑Road Bikes on Cannock Chase

Cannock Chase is a protected landscape enjoyed by walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Illegal off‑road and electric bikes, including Sur‑Rons, are causing serious damage to fragile habitats, footpaths and wildlife. What starts as “just tyre marks” quickly becomes deep ruts and long‑term environmental harm.

These bikes are also a major safety risk. Riders often travel at high speed with little regard for others, leading to frequent near‑misses and putting families and pets, cyclists and horse riders in danger.

Riding these bikes on Cannock Chase is illegal. We are increasing patrols in hotspot areas and will take enforcement action, including seizing bikes.
