FLOOD WARNINGS

If you're out driving tonight or over the weekend, please take care.

Due to heavy & persistent rainfall it is expected we will see some flooding across Tamworth and surrounding areas.

Other areas across the county have already experienced significant flooding from the heavy rain recently.

We're advising Tamworth residents to:

Check for road closures

Slow down and approach flooded areas with caution

Remember to leave extra time for braking

Do not drive through flood water - it can often be deeper than it appears (Glascote Road arches being a prime example)

Remember, you can’t see what’s under the water, including those colossal potholes that can damage vehicles or cause loss of control

Lastly, please be mindful of pedestrians and other road users.
