Electric Bikes 🚲 |
||
You can ride an electric bike (EAPC) without a license or insurance if you're 14 or older - but only if it meets the rules:
✅It must have pedals. ✅The motor must be no more than 250 watts. ✅No electric assist over 15.5mph. ✅Can be used on roads, cycle lanes & paths (not pavements)
❌If it does not meet these rules, it's classed as a moped/motorbike and needs tax, insurance, and a license.
👮♂️👮♀️It is illegal to allow anyone under 14 to ride and e-bike on public roads. Parents or guardians could face prosecution under the Road Traffic Act 1988.
📢 Stay safe. Know the law. Ride responsibly🚴♀️
