🚨 Police Warning: Deer Rutting Season – Drive With Care 🚨

As we enter the deer rutting season, we are reminding all drivers to take extra care on the county’s roads.

Every year, between 150–200 deer are killed on our roads, often resulting in serious damage to vehicles and risk of injury to drivers and passengers. The danger is greatest at dawn and dusk, when deer are most active.

Advice to drivers:

Slow down and be alert, particularly in rural and wooded areas.

Look out for deer warning signs and take them seriously.

If you see one deer, more are likely to follow.

Avoid swerving sharply to avoid a deer, as this can cause more serious accidents.

Please help us reduce the number of deer collisions this season by driving with extra care and awareness.
