🌞 Keeping Children Safe During the Summer Holidays 🌞
With schools breaking up for the summer, it's a great time for children to enjoy the outdoors, meet friends, and make memories. As your local Police Community Support Officer, I want to share a few important reminders to help keep our young people safe during the holidays: 👣 Out and About · Encourage children to stay in well-lit, familiar areas and avoid wandering alone. · Remind them to let someone know where they’re going and when they’ll be back. · If they’re using bikes or scooters, helmets and road safety are a must. 📱 Online Safety · With more free time, children may spend longer online. Make sure parental controls are in place and talk to them about staying safe on social media and gaming platforms. · Remind them never to share personal information or meet up with people they’ve only spoken to online. 🚫 Anti-Social Behaviour · We want everyone to enjoy the summer safely and respectfully. Please speak to your children about the impact of anti-social behaviour and the importance of respecting others in the community. 🏡 Home Alone · If older children are staying home alone, ensure they know how to stay safe, who to contact in an emergency, and not to open the door to strangers. 👮♀️ We’re Here to Help If you have any concerns or would like advice, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s work together to make this summer safe and enjoyable for everyone. Wishing you all a happy and safe summer half term! Kind Regards |
