dangers of swimming in lakes or open waters

Hi all

The weather as been wonderful over the last few weeks so please if you have children please speak to them regarding swimming in open waters lakes/cannels and spread the word.

We know the lakes look very inviting and clear but there are hidden dangers in the water.

The dangers can be contaminated water and unexpected depths just to name a few.

If you see someone in the water call 999 and ask for fire /ambulance or if you are at the sea side ask for the coastguard.

Give as much information as you can ie Location signs bridges or use WHAT THREE WORDS. EMAIL https://what3words.com/news/emergancy/three-word-for -a -faster emergency response.

Stay on the phone to emergency services.

If you can see the person ask them to stay afloat by lying on their backs moving their hands and feet.

Never go into the water to save anyone or animals

Hope this weather continues and we all have a wonderful time.

BE SAFE OUT THERE.
