DRUG DEALER JAILED

A drug dealer from Cannock who hid heroin in his underwear has been jailed.

James Tranter, 21, was sentenced to three-years-and-two-months in prison at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday (30 April) after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis at an earlier hearing.

It comes after he was stopped and searched by officers from our major and organised crime proactive teams last year.

They found two mobile phones and £260 in cash when they searched him in Hednesford, at 1.30pm on 16 April.

He had a bag of heroin on him which had been hidden in his underwear.

He was released under investigation.

Then, on 9 July, officers searched Tranter again after they saw him acting suspiciously on grassland between Muldoon Close and Cleveland Drive in Cannock.

Officers found a large amount of crack cocaine in a bush nearby and Tranter was arrested.

When officers later searched his home address they found cash, mobile phones and cannabis.
