Community updates, Police Street Surgeries and patrol updates

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you all are having a great week!

A big welcome to everyone who has joined Staffordshire Smart Alerts over the last few days.

Please find at the bottom of this e-mail a list of locations I have visited over the last few days.

It was many years ago now since I first started here in Trentham & Hanford. I remember the days when I often had to check which street I was on, frequently referring to my trusted A-Z from keeping me from getting lost.

One thing which quickly became apparent to me was the community spirit here, people looking out for and supporting one another - to this day, I see it on a daily basis.

There is also such a volume of really great work being done by so many, from the Schools, Businesses, Resident Associations, Volunteers, Community Groups and Partnership Agencies - the list goes on and on.

Therefore, I hope we can continue to build this system into something really positive for the Trentham & Hanford community, where it can be a platform for keeping residents and visitors safe and reassured but also showcasing what an amazing place Trentham & Hanford is to both live in, to work and to visit.

Residents can be assured that myself and the Neighbourhood Policing Team will always do our best to help in any way we can to address problems or concerns. And yes, some issues may be challenging and take time to resolve, but be assured we are here to help, we are here to listen and we are here to support this community, of which I am very proud to be a part of.

A fantastic example of the community spirit in the Trentham & Hanford area were to two community groups that I visited yesterday (16/04/2025).

There is a new community group called ‘Places of Welcome’ - which meet on Wednesdays 9:30 - 12 at The Trentham Parish Church, Park Drive, ST4 8AB.

There is also the ‘Bereavement Cafe’, which meets Wednesdays 11:45am - 1pm at The Trentham Parish Church, Park Drive, ST4 8AB.

Both groups will be ‘off’ on Wednesday 23rd April for Easter.

I thoroughly enjoyed attending yesterday, meeting everyone, talking about the work the Neighbourhood Team is doing in the area, answering questions and of course, the coffee was just what I needed.

If you would like to pop along to either group you are very welcome -  it's a great place to make new friends and there is always a hot drink waiting for you!

Events/Community groups

If you have an event or community group that you would like the Neighbourhood Policing Team to attend or to put on here, please let me know.

Sign up's  - Notice Boards

I have placed an updated 'Sign up' letter for Staffordshire Smart Alerts in the Notice Boards on Wilson Road, Wilson Rd (by Primrose Hill), New Inn Lane, Werburgh Dr, The Lea & Jonathan Rd.

There will be one also being placed in the Notice Board outside of The Bod (Barlaston Old Road) and on Burrington Dr. The letter features a QR code which I have placed below. When scanned it will take you straight to the Staffordshire Smart Alert Sign up page.

I have this week patrolled a number of locations where residents have wanted local officers to patrol - I will be heading out on patrol very soon - if you would like me to attend any locations for todays or future patrols, please let me know.

Have a great rest of the week everyone!

See you on patrol,

Scott
