Good morning,
Last night, at around 20:15, we attended Mount Road in Etching Hill along with our colleagues from the service following reports of a fire on Etching Hill Mount . Upon attendance there was indeed a fire which was well ablaze however it was thankfully extinguished by the fire service before it was able to spread even further.
We believe the fire, which is the second one in two weeks, was started deliberately and as such are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Fires are extremely dangerous, as well as very damaging to the local environment. They can also be very resource intensive and unfortunately due to the rough terrain and near zero visibility one firefighter sustained an injury which would have been avoided had these fires not been lit in the first place.
You can contact us either by calling 101, visiting the Staffordshire Police website or anonymously through the CrimeStoppers Website.
Thank you, Chad Carrington
