MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS & DRIVING OFFENCES


A man has been arrested after officers found cocaine inside a sock during a stop-and-search in Tamworth.

Just after 3.30pm yesterday, Wednesday 6th November, we stopped a grey Mazda 2 on Marlborough Way. Upon searching the vehicle officers located a sock containing multiple clip seal bags of cocaine.

A 36-year-old man, of no fixed abode, has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A. He was further arrested for drug driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance. His vehicle was also seized.

He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
