SPEED; Today officers from Neighbourhood Shift 1 have been out in Hednesford and Heath Hayes carrying out speed checks at a number of locations following complaints from local residents, businesses and schools. 

The locations visited were Lower Road, Keys Park Road, Hill Street and Gorsemoor Road between 15:00 and 16:00 which is when a lot of children are travelling home from school. 

A number of vehicles were found to be in excess of the 30mph speed limit including one at 47mph which is completely unacceptable. They will now be contacted by a Safer Roads Partnership Team. 

The only objective of these checks are to simply slow people down meaning our roads are that little bit safer.
