NO OPEN FLAME ON CANNOCK CHASE

CANNOCK CHASE; Whilst on patrol yesterday afternoon, Rural & Wildlife PCSO Chad Carrington came across someone using a disposable BBQ  on very dry grass within Cannock Chase. To prevent a fire, it was extinguished.

Any open flame including BBQ's are NOT permitted anywhere on Cannock Chase.

The ban is to reduce the risk of wild fires as in recent years there have been far too many, most of which were started innocently by a BBQ. These fires start small but grow quickly into enormous, dangerous wild fires, sometimes within minutes. This of course has a devastating impact on the Chase and the Wildlife within it.

By working together we can keep Cannock Chase as beautiful and safe, as it is for good.
